Few cities in Finland cook as many different things as Helsinki does. What people actually eat at home here — Somali, Vietnamese, Kurdish, Nepalese, Finnish — barely shows up on restaurant menus. On Kotimaku the person making that food sells it straight from their own registered home kitchen.

Every dish is cooked after you order it, by the person whose name is on the kitchen. You order from one kitchen at a time, and that cook prepares your food and gets it to your door.

Which parts of Helsinki

Kotimaku is not tied to a delivery fleet or a set of zones — a kitchen covers the area its cook can reasonably reach, so coverage grows outward from wherever cooks actually live. In practice that means dense, residential parts of the city such as Kallio, Vallila, Töölö, Punavuori and Herttoniemi. Each kitchen's own page says what it delivers to, along with its menu and contact details.

Espoo and Vantaa are not covered by this page. When there are kitchens there, they get pages of their own rather than being folded into Helsinki, so nobody orders expecting a delivery that never made sense.
